After successful testing, the Sindh government-controlled bus service’s proper commercial operation will begin within a few weeks, allowing 100 new air-conditioned buses to arrive from China by 20th June.

The buses will operate on 6 routes, including:

  • North Karachi to Indus Hospital 32.9 km.

Sharjeel Memon highlighted:

Memon added that the People’s Bus Service is different from Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects. It will benefit the community. We need to drive the buses at least 1,000 miles [1,000 km] without the burden of passengers. Once that is done, we will be doing a mock operation . It will not be a commercial activity, and we will pass these buses under another test with a large load capacity. It may help us identify any problem or error that needs to be corrected before the commercial launch.
