The Sindh Police is preparing to enlist numerous individuals into its ranks to alleviate the shortage of police personnel, as disclosed by a local media outlet. It has been revealed that the provincial police will imminently initiate the recruitment of 26,800 personnel through the Sindh Testing Service, a third-party entity. Furthermore, an agreement has been reached between the Sindh Police and the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA) regarding this matter.

Recruitment Phases and Specialized Unit Additions
The recruitment drive by the Sindh Police entails a multi-phase approach. Initially, 12,500 positions will be filled across six regions, followed by 3,522 vacancies earmarked for specialized units in the second phase. Notably, 1,991 individuals are set to join the Crowd Management Unit (CMU), while 1,531 personnel will bolster the Rapid Response Force (RRF). Furthermore, there are plans to recruit drivers to support operational needs.
Allegations of Misconduct Surface:
Amidst these recruitment efforts, recent reports have surfaced alleging misconduct by Sindh police officials. Following claims of a police party’s involvement in the robbery of a trader’s residence, another citizen has come forward, alleging that a police squad seized Rs118 million from him within the Sachal police station’s jurisdiction.
Alleged Robbery Incident: Citizen Files Complaint
Complaint Details:
The citizen lodged a formal complaint detailing an unsettling encounter with law enforcement. According to his statement, a patrol squad intercepted and searched his vehicle near the Lyari Expressway exit at Sohrab Goth, situated within the jurisdiction of the Sachal police station. Subsequently, the squad allegedly detained the individuals in the car and forcibly seized Rs118 million from the vehicle before departing.

Official Response and Investigation:
Promptly addressing the situation, Sindh IG Rafat Mukhtar Raja initiated action, directing East Zone DIG Azfar Mahesar to investigate the matter thoroughly.
