National Women’s Selection Committee Announces Squad for West Indies Series

The national women’s selection committee, led by Saleem Jaffar, has unveiled a 16-member squad for the upcoming series against West Indies.

Recalls and Comebacks:

Five WODI and four WT20I cricketers have been recalled to the squad, marking a significant return for these players. Notable among them are wicket-keeper batter Sidra Nawaz and others who last appeared for the national team in previous encounters.

Match Schedule:

The series comprises three ODIs, part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, scheduled from April 18 to 23. Additionally, five T20Is will be played from April 26 to May 3. All matches are set to occur at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

Player Updates:

Leg-spinner Ghulam Fatima, who was part of the preparatory camp in Karachi, has been rested due to injuries sustained in a recent car accident. Meanwhile, Bismah Maroof, also involved in the accident, will undergo a fitness assessment before determining her selection status.
