The Sindh government announced its decision to start a pink bus service for women in Karachi. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the state transport minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The minister said the pink bus service would start working on the 1st of February. Its first route will be from Model Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal, to Tower. However, Buses depart every 20 minutes in the morning and evening and every hour during the day.

According to this meeting, the operation of public buses in Sukkur, Larkana, and Hyderabad and the launch of routes 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Karachi were discussed. The provincial minister ordered the start of public bus service in Sukkur on the 29th of January. Moreover, he called the Managing Director of Sindh Mass Transit Authority to visit the remaining routes of public bus services in Karachi and evaluate the improvement of the roads.

The participants in the meeting were Secretary Transport Abdul Halim Sheikh, Managing Director Sindh Mass Transit Authority Zubair Chana, and Operations Manager National Radio and Telecommunications Abdul Shakur. Moreover, Sharjeel Memon said that routes 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Karachi should run buses as soon as possible so that more passengers can access modern public transport.
Buses fare will be low:
Earlier this month, Sharjeel Memon declared the launch of the first electric bus service in Karachi. “This bus service will start from Tank Chowk Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout, Sea View Defence using Khayaban e Ittehad,” He added: Airport passengers can also use this service. According to the Sindh Mass Transport Authority, these electric buses are eco-friendly as they are charged with solar energy. Moreover, the fares for these bases will be low while they offer a comfortable ride.
