Govt Launches Green Youth Movement for a better environment.

The government unveiled the Green Youth Movement (GYM) on Thursday as part of the PM Kamyab Jawan Program to promote an environmentally friendly culture by involving youth in achieving the goals of the Prime Minister’s ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ vision.

In this regard, the opening ceremony was held at the Convention Center in Islamabad and was attended by the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar; Minister of State for Climate Change, Zartaj Gul; Special Adviser to PM on Youth Affairs, Usman Dar; Executive Director Higher Education Commission, Dr. Shaista Sohail; and Country Director British Council Pakistan, Amir Ramzan, along with a huge number of youth and students from various universities.

Climate change challenges : 

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Planning said the government under the leadership of Imran Khan had taken several positive steps to address the problem of climate change as Pakistan falls into the list of the ten most affected countries. He said three dams were being built to address water and climate problems. Minister Chaudhry Fawad said PM Imran Khan was the hope of Pakistani youth who would overcome insecurity. He said the future of our youth would never be given to corrupt people. He said the opposition would not succeed in their plans, and  PTI would host a historic community gathering in D-Chowk on the 27th of this month.

Green Youth Movement :

Usman Dar, Special Assistant for Youth Affairs, said that under the Kamyab Jawan program, 42 billion rupees had been disbursed among youth under various programs, and 25,000 businesses have been established. He said under GYM, 65000 more jobs would create.

Kamyab Jawan Programme :

GYM is part of the PM Kamyab Jawan’s Program, which incorporates many initiatives to make youth an important tool for development. Loan Scheme, Skill Scholarship, National Youth Council, Green Youth Movement, Kamyab Jawan Markaz, Kamyab Jawan Innovation League, and Tigers Force are some of the programs of the PM Kamyab Program Jawan.

Education sector :

The GYM initiative is supported by the Council of Britain’s new youth leadership program, “Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative,” which provides technical assistance with training, digital collaboration, and international communication. The School of Leadership Foundation assists the British Council in mobilizing youth and establishing GYM clubs in 137 universities in the public sector through the Green Election. The British Council will donate 2.8 million pounds to the Green Youth Movement program, while the Pakistani government has donated Rs Two hundred thirty-eight million in this much-needed program.
