ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that cinemas have opened in eight of Pakistan’s most vaccinated cities after receiving top marks in the Covid vaccination drive.

Cinema halls will reopen:

Fawad Chaudhry has disclosed that cinemas will reopen in eight Pakistani cities from 1st October. Sadly, Karachi and Lahore are not included in the among cities. Only Gilgit, Skardu, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, and Peshawar are allowed to reopen cinemas by decision. We hope that health authorities in Karachi and Lahore will speed up vaccinations drives so that cinemas can reopen in their regions.

The Eight cities, which included:

The cities, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, will be allowed to open cinemas from 1st October. In addition, We hope that health authorities in Karachi and Lahore will also increase immunization equipment so that cinemas can be opened in their districts, wrote Fawad Chaudhry.

Targeted vaccination rate:

Asad Umar went on to reiterate that “the only way out of the Covid-19 epidemic was to vaccinate a high percentage of the population.” He also announced that as part of the plan to reward vaccinated cities, there would be “high limits on cities with low immunization rates and unvaccinated citizens,” which will take effect from 1st October.

The world welcomed another James Bond film:

Just yesterday, as the world embraced another James Bond film, Pakistanis began to question whether they would ever visit their local cinemas. And while actors like Fahad Mustafa, who do not rely entirely on their movies for live releases to preserve their livelihoods, seemed optimistic, filmmakers like Nabeel Qureshi seemed to be running out of breath.

James Bond premiere today in London:

“This is the first James Bond premiere in London. Hopefully, our movies will be back in action soon again. The return to normalcy is a good sign! Tweeted Fahad. Although, there have been many attempts to open Pakistani cinemas with strong SOPs, there is no clear indication that new Pakistani films will be released anytime soon. Especially as big cities like Karachi and Lahore are still not allowed to open cinemas.
