Salman Noman, a boy of age 30 from Karachi’s poor Korangi surrounding area, started making music videos on YouTube in 2021 but stopped producing social media content after he didn’t get much attention. However, after a break of about seven months, Salman Noman returned to digital content in January 2022 with a different approach, making a short comedy video that was a huge hit. His first video became an overnight hit, racking up 15 million views. Today, his channel has reached the milestone of 13.5 million subscribers, the greatest number ever recorded by a Pakistani content creator.
Google awarded Diamond Play Button:
Google presented Salman Noman with a diamond play button, and the Sindh government held a special event to celebrate his achievement. Noman believes his originality is the key to successful content creation. He has never needed a bigger camera, microphone, or light, as his phone is enough to record video. Moreover, his videos are mostly shot in nearby food stalls and shops owned by his father, providing an opportunity to add humor to Karachi’s street life. While Noman focuses primarily on comedy, he also covers serious issues such as divorce, homeless children, and coronavirus precautions.
Plan to release a song after Eid.
At first, he wanted to become a singer, but his comedy videos became popular, so he started making parodies of popular songs. Noman plans to return to the music of his first love and will release a song after Eid.
Diamond Play Button Reward:
Exclusive is the first word that comes to mind when considering the diamond play button because only a small group of fewer than 1000 creators worldwide have won this award. However, most of the creators in this group have more than 3,500 videos, so Salman Noman could be the first to trust the short format that YouTube is paying so much attention to and expanding lately.
