Focusing on the requirement for changes in ‘subsidy system’, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday coordinated to guarantee that the advantage of subsidies arrived at only the poor people and needy families.
Directing a gathering of an economic research organization, PM Imran commanded to analyze the whole subsidy system, including, “The administration subsidies are planned for giving ease and help to poor and meriting individuals.”
The head guided his finance advisor to set up an unique cell to survey the subsidies gave by government in different fields and make thorough suggestions to improve their potency
During the gathering, PM was briefed about the financial plan and subsidies in electricity, gas, fertilizers, utility stores, exports, housing, Ehsas, National Highway Authority, and other government associations.
Prior on May 27, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar had said that previous leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had granted a subsidy of Rs20 billion out of Rs26 billion on sugar in most recent five years.
Shahzad Akbar had said previously the sugar mafia extended with the help of corrupt governments, however that time, they were discovered red handed in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s legislature.
