Oppo A58 5G, the upcoming smartphone-Oppo, has launched a brand new budget phone in its country ahead of Singles Day, a popular shopping festival in China. It’s called the A58 5G, and it’s not to be confused with the recently launched Oppo A17, which looks the same as it was launched in Europe a few months ago. Moreover, the A58 5G has several specifications different from the A17, such as a new chipset and fast charging.
Specification:
Design and Display:
The Oppo A58 5G has the same design and display specifications as its European sibling. However, the screen is a 6.56-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720p and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. The waterdrop notch houses the selfie camera, and the fingerprint sensor is on the right. There are only two cameras on the back.
Storage and Software:
The A58 5G is different when it comes to the internal hardware. It replaces the Helio G96 SoC found on the A17 with a Dimensity 700 chip. This is paired with 6 to 8GB of RAM, and storage options include 128GB and 256GB, with a microSD card slot for adding more. Regarding software, the phone will bring Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 on top.
Cameras:
Previous leaks suggested that the phone would have a 50MP main camera and a stunning 108MP secondary unit, but that didn’t happen. The A58 5G has a 50MP main camera, but its secondary shooter is only a 2MP depth camera for portrait shots. The selfie camera housed in the waterdrop notch is an 8MP shooter. Video recording goes up to 1080p 30 FPS.
Battery and Pricing:
The Oppo A58 5G brings 33W fast charging on top of its 5,000mAh battery, which should allow fast charging. Moreover, the phone’s starting price is just $192 in China. The news reveals that the Oppo A58 5G will officially launch in China on November 11, 2022. The smartphone was expected to be a camera beast in the category.
