Sadly, their shared adventure turned into a tragedy. Approximately an hour after descending, communication was lost with their submersible, the RMS Titan. People around the world anxiously awaited any sign of survivors as search and rescue teams were deployed. However, the US Coast Guard delivered devastating news last night: the submersible had suffered a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber, resulting in the loss of lives of everyone on board.
