On Monday, it appears that Pakistan President Arif Alvi and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak have tested positive for COVID-19, like a week after Prime Minister Imran Khan had contracted the virus.

President Arif Alvi said in his tweet, “I have tested positive for Covid-19. May Allah have mercy on all Covid affectees,” 

Furthermore, he said he had to get the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as yet, and it observes that the antibodies are starting to grow after taking 2nd dose that was due in a week.

Samina Alvi shared that President Alvi has “mild symptoms but is in good spirits.” She said he was quarantined, and the covid-19 tested negative. She tweeted, “We had our vaccine 1st dose done, but it takes time to build immunity & I request everyone to continue to please to get vaccinations done & practice SOPs,”

For now, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail declared that Defence Minister Khattak had also been spotted with the virus. Imran Ismail wrote about his health, “Get well soon PK,” He also contracted this virus and get it recovered last year.

The president and defence minister’s positive diagnosis completely over a week later, Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi tested positive for the Covid-19.

Well-Wishers:

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rongpleased President Alvi with a “speedy and complete recovery.” He said, “Nothing could stop Pakistan and China’s joint effort to fight against the pandemic till victory.”

Although wishing the president for a speedy recovery, British Ambassador Christian Turner motivates the people to go around the SOPs and get themselves vaccinated against the virus.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, The Foreign Minister, wrote, “Wishing President [Arif Alvi] and Defence Minister [Pervez Khattak] quick recoveries and the best of health.”

Pakistan is in the grab of a third wave of the Covid-19. The government has decided to enforce new limitations on Social gatherings from 5th April due to the regular rise in cases and low supply of the vaccine.
