On October 21, Nawaz Sharif departed from London for Pakistan, transiting through Saudi Arabia. His special flight was scheduled to land in Islamabad before continuing to Lahore, where he planned to address a gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan.
Legal Troubles and Denials :
Sharif’s tenure as Prime Minister ended with the Supreme Court’s removal from office amid allegations of corruption and unexplained wealth. Subsequently, he was convicted of corruption, but Sharif consistently denied these accusations. He claimed that the charges were politically motivated, accusing the country’s military leadership of influencing the judiciary to convict him. Conditions for Medical Treatment Abroad:
In November 2019, Nawaz Sharif was permitted to leave Pakistan for medical treatment, subject to specific conditions. However, He had to return within four weeks if his doctors deemed him fit. Additionally, he was required to submit medical reports that Pakistan’s embassy in London notarized. Despite these conditions, Sharif chose to remain in self-imposed exile in London.
