The safari tourist train of Pakistan Railways, which has launched to promote the culture and natural beauty of the Potohar area, runs from Golra station to Attock Khurd.

The train runs three times a week

The new train will run three times each week, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It will start from Islamabad’s Golra station, going through Taxila, Hassanabdal, and Attock city rail line station, situated in the region that joins Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Punjab.

The beautiful tourist route will offer travelers an opportunity to adore the region’s beauty. It will go through the scene of Potohar, including Margalla Hills, Sangjani tunnel, and numerous bridges like Chablal Bridge, Haro Bridge, Ghazi Borotha, and Attock Khurd bridges.

Promote tourism in Pakistan

Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani introduced a safari tourist train at the Golra railroad station manufactured in 1882. Moreover, Pakistan Railways has also constructed a museum at the station.

Senate recommended that Pakistan Railways play a main part in advancing the country’s tourism by launching similar safari trains in various areas of Pakistan. He added that tourism promotion was each person’s duty, adding any nation connected with tourism.

He said it is my responsibility to end corruption in Pakistan Railways. I will wipe out all disgraced people from the association and make it productive. He further added that cargo trains would likewise begin soon. Keeping in view the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Railways would promote tourism in the country.

Ticket price

The price of the train for adults is Rs1000 (US$6.2) for children is Rs500 (US$3). Divisional superintendent Rawalpindi Munawar Shahm said amazing discounts would give to special-able individuals. Saloon vehicle tickets are accessible for Rs3000 (US$18) each.

Arrangements were made for the train stoppage at different places to ensure that foreign photographers could catch the country’s natural beauty in their cameras and feature it across the world. The Safari train comprises one diesel motor, one economy class, two steam motors, five bogies of cargo, and two brake vans.
