Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Transmitting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday that the government is going to settled media employees’ matters through journalist’s protection law.

Firdous Ashiq Awan, while instructing the Senate’s Standing Committee on Information and Transmitting during a session held under the chair of Faisal Javed, said the government is holding counsels with the partners over journalists’ matters. She included that the owners of media houses will be reached considering the plans postponed by the journalists’ associations.

While informing the Upper House’s body, Dr Awan said the administration is responsible to the country and it is the main duty of the legislature to find the arrangement of media emergency and troubles being looked by its employees.

It is important to tune in to the two sides. Media holders have not built up an assistance structure later to naming workers. At whatever point required, the private association gets administrations of an individual and later ends its employees. Alterations in PEMRA ‘Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’ guidelines are basic to determine the issues to journalists.

She seen imbalances in the pay rates of employees in various media houses due to non-accessibility of an assistance structure, though, a few organizations utilized the outsider for the arrangement of employees. She proceeded with that the administration is going to determine issues through renewals in journalist protection laws.

Besides, the special assistant advised the points of payments discharged to the media associations.

Senator Pervaiz Rasheed asked the media houses to quickly releases the pending pay rates of the journalists from the payments gave by the government.

The Senate body brought the owners of media houses, authorities of the Finance Ministry and agents of Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) to talk about the issues of non-installment of pay rates to the journalists.
