Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH), Pakistan’s first cancer hospital, has been promoting and carrying on a Cancer Awareness campaign for some time now. Even after “Pinktober”, when people either wear pink clothes or pink ribbons on their clothes (to show support for cancer patients and spread awareness), the campaign continues.

Today is the 15th of November, 2019. The management for the campaign, seems to come up with interesting and innovative methods as well. One big example, is the PINKTOBER RIDE KARACHI. This was when cyclists from all over the country, rode through wearing Pink shirts.

This wasn’t the only method, however. A little more recently, they held POLO IN PINK. In this event, players wore pink bands, and pink balloons were used as well. Then there was also Mirror Activation, held in 4 different cities. The mirrors were decorated with pink butterflies, at different gyms and grooming places (Spas, Beauty Salons, etc. ).

Moreover, there have been awareness talks, conferences, and walks, all over the world. One Fundraising Dinner is also scheduled on the 17th of this month, at Lehigh Valley, USA.

But that’s not all. For this campaign, they even decorated Centaurus Mall Islamabad in pink. And for the most recent event, Marriott and Pearl Continental hotels all over the country, lit up in pink to show support.

These initiatives of SKMCH, and all partnered entities, is definitely applaudable. More entities should be involved in such activities, and we should all do the best we can to support the cause and spread awareness.
