At the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) event, Tecno made a significant announcement, introducing its latest lineup, the Camon 30 series. This series comprises four phones: the Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and the Camon 30 Premier 5G. While our previous coverage delved into the Premier model, this article will spotlight the remaining devices in the series.
Introducing the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G
Like its counterpart, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is powered by the formidable Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset. It boasts an impressive camera setup akin to the Premier model, featuring a 50MP 1/1.56” sensor in its main camera, equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), alongside a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. However, the Pro version differs in its camera configuration, replacing the 3x periscope with a 2MP depth sensor.
Display and Performance–Camon 30 series
While lacking the LTPO display featured in the Premier variant, the Pro model doesn’t compromise display quality. It offers a commendable 6.78” panel with an exceptional 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,436px, ensuring a smooth and immersive viewing experience.
Battery and Multimedia Features
In terms of battery and charging capabilities, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is equipped with a substantial 5,000mAh battery supported by 70W fast charging, aligning with the specifications of the Premier model. Furthermore, it features stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology, delivering an enhanced audio experience. Additionally, an IR blaster positioned at the top of the device adds versatility to its functionality.
Introducing the Tecno Camon 30 5G
The Tecno Camon 30 5G, equipped with a different chipset, presents a revised version of the Dimensity 930, known as the Dimensity 7020 SoC. Despite this change, the device delivers an impressive performance.
Display and Camera Enhancements
Driven by the Dimensity 7020 SoC, the Camon 30 5G offers a slightly lower 120Hz refresh rate on its expansive 6.78” display, ensuring a vivid viewing experience on its 1080p AMOLED panel. The device retains its standout feature – the 50MP selfie camera with autofocus capability. Moreover, it introduces a dual-colour temperature flash, enhancing image capture in various lighting conditions.
Rear Camera Setup and Imaging Capabilities
Regarding the rear camera setup, the Camon 30 5G introduces a notable shift with a different 50MP sensor (1/1.57”) as the main shooter, complemented by OIS for sharper photos. However, an ultra-wide lens is absent, with only a pair of lower-resolution auxiliary lenses available.

Battery Life and Multimedia Features
Maintaining consistency with the Premier phone, the Camon 30 5G features a 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for 70W wired charging. Users can still enjoy an immersive audio experience with stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology. Additionally, the convenient IR remote control feature remains available for added convenience.
