Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) General Manager Flight Services Aamir Bashir gave the new rules for its cabin group that to take of passports of crew member to control ongoing occurrences of staff sneaking away in different nations.

Two crew member goes missing

A PIA representative recognized that there had been two ongoing occurrences of cabin group disappearing in Canada, adding that the issue was accounted for to Canadian migration authorities.

Flight attendant steward who was recognized as Zahida Baloch disappeared after showing up in Toronto on a PIA flight PK-797 from Karachi on January 29. Second incident in which a flight steward named Ramzan Gull disappeared around the same time.

After these two incidents PIA took the decision to take passports of crew member and also the issue was brought to the notification of PIA’s station supervisor in Canada who later directed the air terminal authority about the airline steward’s nonappearance without implying his seniors.

Directives issued to control current situation

The first directive was issued that PIA to take the passports of the cabin team would be kept in the custody of the station administrator after they clear immigration and customs checks post appearance in different nations. They will be returned their passports at the hour of departing flights.

Second directive gave that the staff of a hotel where they will stay will guarantee each crew team checks in at the hotel and will report quickly if they discover anybody missing.

Moreover, the cabin team have been additionally directed to limit their movement because of the pandemic and nobody will be permitted to stay out of the hotel at night.

The aircraft management had paid serious notice to the issue and dispatched a departmental investigation into missing of their crew members. The PIA representative had kept up that a missing report was held up with the Canadian police and authorities were additionally directed with respect to the missing crew member.
