The United Arab Emirates Air Arabia has introduced a joint project with one of Pakistan’s leading business groups to launch a budget airline– Fly Jinnah. Prime Minister Imran Khan announced this news in a post on his official Twitter handle. “I welcome Air Arabia to Pakistan & wish them achievement in their interest with local investors in establishing a new Pakistani airline, FLY JINNAH.” My govt is devoted to attracting investment in Pakistan’s prospering travel & tourism division, which offers extensive opportunities.

His tweet followed the day after meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia.

Fly Jinnah will first be established in Karachi

A budget carrier to be created under the joint project will operate on private and global routes from Pakistan .Fly Jinnah will first establish in Karachi, run on a range of domestic routes across Pakistan, and then spread its route network universally, said the Air Arabia chairman.

Air Operating Certificate (AOC)

Work on securing the Air Operating Certificate (AOC) will commence shortly, allowing the airline to start operating and announce more details about the launch date, fleet, and destination network. In due course,” said the joint statement.

Support the development of Pakistan’s air transport sector

According to IATA, the air transport industry, including airlines and its supply chain and the tourism spend, are estimated to support $3.3 billion of GDP in Pakistan. Full 1 percent of the country’s GDP is supported by inputs to the air transport sector and foreign travelers arriving by air. “This partnership reflects our responsibility to support the development of Pakistan’s air transport sector while providing the citizens and visitors of the country with a new choice of value for money air travel,” said Iqbal Ali Lakhani, chairman of Lakson Group.
