US Govt messed up the Afghanistan situation, stated PM Imran Khan
Premier claims about 10,000 militants crossing into the neighboring country from Pakistan

United States Repeated Attempts to seek Political Solution with the Taliban

While questioning the purpose of the American invasion in Afghanistan in the first place and then from a position of weakness, their repeated attempts of seeking a political solution with the Taliban, PM Imran khan stated that the United States has really messed up the situation in Afghanistan.

Now, as the US Military and NATO are in their final stages of winding up their involvement in Afghanistan matter, the Taliban Resurgence has been seen all across Afghanistan. On Tuesday night, during an appearance on PBS NewsHour (an American News Program), Prime Minister Imran Khan has criticized the US by saying

Anti- American or Taliban Khan

And people like me who kept saying that there’s no military solution, who knows the history of Afghanistan, we were called- people like me were called anti-American. I was called the Taliban Khan.”

Taliban being the part of Afghanistan’s Government:

According to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the US government had late realization that there is no military solution in Afghanistan. Still, unfortunately, by that time, the bargaining power of the Americans or NATO has already gone. US Government should have opted for this path earlier.

“Taliban (will be) part of that government.” PM told host Judy Woodruff (Program Host),” But once they had reduced the troops to barely 10,000 and then when they gave an exit date, The Taliban thought they had won. And so, therefore, it was tough for now to get them to compromise.”

Worst Case Scenario- Civil Wars in Afghanistan:

PM describes Afghanistan descending into Civil Wars as a worst-case scenario. Premier said, “From Pakistan’s point of view, that is the worst-case scenario because we then have to face two scenarios, one of them being a refugee problem. Already Pakistan is hosting over 3 million Afghan refugees. A protracted civil war would bring more refugees. And our economic situation is not such that we can have another influx.”
