Islamabad’s Margalla station issued an arrest warrant on Saturday against Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan for his remark against additional District and Sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry. The warrant was issued hours after Imran Khan submitted a legal document in a  contempt case registered against him over his remark.

A complaint was registered against the former prime minister at the federal capital’s Margalla police station on August 20, and he was lashed out by Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Choudhary and senior police officials for his remarks at a rally at F9 Park. There will be serious consequences and justice for what he called a “biased” attitude towards his party. However, A judge issued an arrest warrant at the police’s request on Saturday for failure to prosecute the case. Imran was accused in the terrorism case due to the complaint of Ali Javed, the Sadar judge of Islamabad, for creating terror against the judge.

Issuance of the warrant was a “legal process”

As the news spread, PTI workers gathered at Imran Banigala’s residence. Moreover the workers have also traveled to different cities to warn the government not to arrest their leaders. Meanwhile, the Islamabad police deny sending a team to arrest the former prime minister. Police said there were rumors that 300 soldiers had been sent to Bani Gala. Moreover, Islamabad police said, This news is not true and baseless. Islamabad police said the sentencing was a “legal process.” He asked citizens not to listen to advertisements. After the Islamabad High Court dismissed terrorism charges from a case against Imran over his remarks, the case was transferred to the Sessions Court, where the PTI chief had not got bail. However, police said the arrest warrant was issued to confirm his presence as he did not even attend the final court hearing on the matter.
