Pakistan has reached its first T20 World Cup final since 2009. The Men in Green defeated New Zealand by seven wickets in their first semi-final at the SCG. However, Pakistan’s opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan regained momentum as they helped them to the 2022 T20 World Cup final. Babar and Rizwan scored a magnificent century as Pakistan scored 153 for seven wickets.

Details:

The men in green were at their best as Shaheen Afridi attacked in the first over to dismiss a dangerous Finn Allen. Shadab Khan defeated Devon Conway, and Muhammad Nawaz knocked out Glenn Phillips in succession. New Zealand was able to forge a strong partnership as Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson stabilized the ship for Blackcap. Darryl Mitchell hit the bowling unit and scored an excellent half-century to lead New Zealand to a defensible 153 goals.

 T20 World Cup final:

Babar and Rizwan looked confident from the start and took the pace of the Kiwi attack to the cleaners. The two put on a century partnership before Babar Azam was released for 53 off 42 balls. Rizwan scored 57 off 43 balls before returning to the stand. However, Shan Masood and Mohammad Harris brought them close before Harris departed. Shan and Iftikhar chipped away at the rest of their targets with relative ease, taking Pakistan to their third T20 World Cup final. England and India will meet in the second semi-final, scheduled to be played at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10. The Greens will face England or India in the final of this big event.
