Details:

The 5G launch in Pakistan continues to be delayed. It was originally supposed to launch in December this year but was soon pushed back to early 2023 from March 2023, it was postponed to June, but now it should be scheduled for July 2023. said Syed Amin ul Haq , Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications. While announcing the new date, the Information Technology Minister promised that this initiative would help boost the IT industry and exports. He presented at the UBIT Career Fest 2022 hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Karachi. He added that he is sure that the new deadline will meet without further delay.

The minister remarked:

Our IT industry has already witnessed robust growth. Compared to the other 43 ministries of Pakistan, the IT and telecommunication sectors registered the highest export increase. The exports of other ministries increased by 2 to 3% over the last couple of years, while exports of IT and telecom jumped by 47.44% during the same period. It reflects the potential which we need to capitalize on.

IT Startups with huge funding:

He also said that industry and academic institutions could help meet future job needs and help IT graduates take advantage of the growth opportunities IT companies offer. The government also promotes IT startups with a huge investment round of around $373 million. However, countries worldwide are still struggling to achieve stable and reliable 5G. Many cities, including the UK, still have poor 5G connectivity, and it remains to be seen how the new generation of mobile networks will perform in Pakistan. We also recommend giving some thought to the July release date.
