Daewoo will operate an 80-bus fleet on the green line. It is scheduled to be operational in November 2021. So far, 40 Chinese buses have arrived in the port of Karachi to do the job. However, the city’s current public transportation system accounts for a small percentage of total vehicles (4.5 percent) and provides about 42 percent of passenger demand. Para-transit mode carries 10% of cargo vessels and takes 8% of passengers. Although contract carts make up 2% of motor vehicles, they have 10% of all passengers (JICA Person Trip Study, 2005). Following the completion of the testing, the Green Line bus service will be operational in Karachi on December 25, 2021. Last month, 80 buses from the green line project arrived in Karachi.
