Good news for Mountaineers – Exclusive from Pakistan
Pakistan Installs the first mobile phone tower at K2 base camp. This is a special communication organization project by a government entity. The project is done under the Ministry of Interior. The main objective of establishing this tower is to facilitate the mountain climbers. It will benefit the mountaineers to stay in touch with their crew while climbing the mountain of K2.
Tourism Minister Addresses Media about this establishment of Pakistan
The tourism minister of Gilgit Baltistan, Nasir Ali Khan, says that the mountain climbers and visitors can now operate their cell phones and avail of internet services while standing at the top of the world’s second-highest peak K2.
Back then, the climbers are forced to use satellite phones to remain in touch with their team members as the K2 mountain is very vertical. The climbers have to do a tough job to each this height. The rocky surface adds up the difficulty level even more. Especially in winters, due to the severe climatic conditions, the mountaineers face difficulties and hardships in contacting their teammates. Pakistan Installs cell phone tower is a great step by the government. Due to this tower, getting one another has become easy and convenient.

The government of Gilgit Baltistan is taking more initiatives to entertain the visitors. Moreover, Pakistan has started Lahore-Skardu flights two days per week. The government intends to introduce new routes for travelers’ convenience and international visitors, the minister added. Prime minister Imran khan accepts the development package of Gilgit Baltistan. The base camp region of K2 will soon be provided with the 4G LTE services, respectively.
