ISLAMABAD: Pakistan gets up to 2.5 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine
On Friday, Pakistan gets up to 2.5 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine that was donated to the United States of America (USA) as part of a partnership agreement with COVAX, the Global Vaccination Initiative, UNICEF, and the Federal Government.
According to a press release from the US Embassy, the vaccine arrived at Islamabad International Airport, meaning an 80 million dose donation that the US should share with the world.
President of the United States Joe Biden:
“The United States is committed to bringing such relevance to that international vaccination effort as we have shown in the house,” said a press release stating that President of the United States Joe Biden.
The US mission, Pakistan, and I are happy to share with us, for a safe and effective vaccine with the people of Pakistan, ” said US Embassy Charge d’affaires Angela P Aggeler
These Vaccines will save lives and help the government find a way out of this crisis that has devastated so many families and communities of the two countries. In addition, in the current vaccine donor statement, the United States has issued more than $ 50 million in COVID-19 support for their collaboration with the Government of Pakistan.
Vaccine used in Pakistan
This is the first delivery of doses of a modern vaccine that there is a circle that is the third non-Chinese vaccine currently available in Pakistan.
In the past, in the UK, AstraZeneca, and in the US, Pfizer was vaccinated in the country on the Chinese side, with Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Cansino vaccines.
These days, the dose that was delivered from the US to Islamabad International Airport was given to Pakistan in collaboration with the COVAX Global Vaccination Initiative.
