New Green Line BRT Buses to Reach Karachi Tonight.

KARACHI: The first load of 40 Green Line BRT buses will arrive in the port of Karachi from China tonight (Saturday). A special event will be held at the port of Karachi on Sunday on the arrival of the Green Line BRT buses, whereas Sindh Governor Imran Ismail will inspect buses at the port.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail will attend the ceremony:

The event will be accompanied by Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Provincial Planning Minister Asad Umer, Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi, and IT Minister Ameenul Haq. However, The second cargo of 40 buses will arrive in Karachi by the end of October.

Green Line BRT project

The Minister of Finance for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar, announced that the Green Line bus service would be operational in Karachi in November this year. The Karachi Green Line BRT crossroads project is 24 kilometers long, including 12.7 kilometers elevated, 10.9 kilometers in the distance, 422 meters underground, and 25 stations.

The standard Phase II tunnel from Gurumandir to the 2.5 km Park Municipality has two underpasses on the MMA Jinnah Road. A state-of-the-art underground bus depot with parking and a commercial mezzanine area was also under construction in Numaish. Moreover, Phase-I construction work was started in 2016.

Conclusion:

The government is taking initiatives to improve the transport facilities of Sindh. In addition, the China Bus Manufacturers are making these buses along with the latest technology to ensure the improvement and well enhancement in the transportation system of Karachi.   The first cargo of 40 Green Line BRT buses will arrive at the port of Karachi from China tonight. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail will inspect buses at the port. A special event will be held in Karachi port on Sunday regarding the arrival of BRT buses.
