Najam Sethi Reveals PSL 8 Schedule – Details, & Opening Ceremony

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the premier league in this country and one of the best leagues in the world. The final schedule of PSL 8 was announced by the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi. Moreover, according to the latest news, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the PSL 8 schedule as fans gear up for the new season. In today’s announcement, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi announced the date and venue of the 8th edition of PSL. The tournament will begin on 13th February 2023, with the defending champions of the Lahore Calendar taking on Multan Sultan at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Women’s league matches:

As promised, Multan will host the tournament opener with the final at what is now PSL Standard, Lahore. Another good news announced in Najam Sethi’s press conference is that three Pakistan Women’s League matches will be held on March 8, 10, and 11 alongside PSL.

PSL 8 Schedule Announced:

According to the final schedule, 34 matches will play between Lahore Qalandar, Multan Sultan, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, and Peshawar Zalmi. Four teams are lucky enough to play five games in front of their home crowd, which is a huge incentive to win. The PSL 8 program is divided into two phases. The first match of this tournament will be held from 13th February to 26 at National Bank Cricket Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium. The second and final phase of the game will be held from 26th February to 19th March between Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium.

The event also kicks off the Pakistan Women’s League quietly but firmly with three matches in Rawalpindi. Two teams of a mix of local and international players will participate in three matches. More details will be announced shortly.

Chair of the PCB Management Committee, Najam Sethi, said:

“I am delighted to formally confirm the schedule of the HBL PSL 8, which will allow the PCB and the six franchises to start firming up and finalizing their respective event plans and objectives. We aim to make the HBL PSL bigger, better, and stronger than ever, with the overarching ambition to make it the first-choice event for leading T20 cricketers.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to HBL, who have supported this tournament since its inception in 2016 by retaining the title sponsorship rights. I would also like to thank all our other valued commercial partners, broadcasters, and franchise owners for their patronage,” he added.

“Finally, I would request the passionate Pakistan cricket fans to back the HBL PSL 8 by turning up in big numbers and showing their appreciation and support for not only their favorite teams and players but for all other participants. May the best side lift the most prestigious Trophy of the Pakistan cricket calendar at the home of Pakistan cricket on 19th March,” he concluded.
