NADRA has introduced a new system for verifying and updating computerized identity cards (CNICs). As reported by NADRA officials, the new system could identify the registration of any unrelated person in the family program.
A new program targeting illegal immigrants living in Pakistan.
Nadra launched an awareness campaign titled “Your family is safe, Pakistan is safe.” The program will also help the authorities to track down illegal immigrants in Pakistan. The new technology will identify fake IDs through artificial intelligence, and registration will be canceled immediately, however the development comes just weeks after a hearing of about four million CNICs echoed across the country, including the Senate and the National Assembly.

Under this program, Pakistani citizens will be able to receive and confirm details of their family members via SMS on their mobile phones by sending an SMS stating their CNIC number and its release date to 8009. In response, the sender will receive their family details, While if there is incorrect information or the name of a stranger or unrelated person added in your family, write 1 and send an SMS to inform Nadra, or go to their registration center to register the name. If the information is accurate, write 2 and send an SMS to confirm the data.
To access the verification and renewal service, it is necessary to register an SMS with Nadra at the mobile number provided at the Registration Center when you need an ID card or “B” form.
The facility is provided free of cost at all Nadra Registration Centres
However, if your mobile number is not registered with Nadra, you can visit their center to register or change your mobile number, and this center is provided free of charge at all registration centers
In response, all family tree details will be provided when there is an option to make adjustments. Moreover, citizens could register their mobile numbers at any NADRA center.
