PSL match was delayed on Monday after Australian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed from Islamabad United tested positive for Covid-19 and was immediately isolated.
After Fawad Ahmed tested positive for the infection, different players were approached to wait at the hotel for their quick Covid-19 tests, which give results in 15 minutes.
The match was between the United & Gladiators
At that time, the team had said their match against the Gladiators, which was rescheduled to begin at 7 pm today, would start at 9 pm. All the team members are, as of now, going through tests. Later they said, the players are cleared to play. However, the PCB declared that the match had been rescheduled for 2nd March, Tuesday at 7 pm.
Tickets will be utilized for the rescheduled match
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the tickets for the match purchased could be utilized to watch the game live tomorrow.
The PCB said a player from one of the sides highlighting in today’s match has tested positive. The player had shown indications two days prior and had quickly isolated.
Islamabad United & Quetta Gladiators other members tested negative
Additionally, the test aftereffects of both the team members had tested negative. As per PCB’s protocol, Fawad Ahmed will stay in isolation until he gets back with two adverse outcomes in 10 days.
The second case of a player who tested positive
This is the season’s second Covid-19-related and the second case of a player testing positive for the virus. On 21st February, Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Wahab Riaz, and coach, Daren Sammy, had been forced into a three-day isolate after meeting an individual outside the group’s bio-secure bubble.
