Dr. Faisal Sultan said the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant had reached alarming levels in Karachi, as public and private hospitals have run out of space, forcing the provincial government to impose partial lock down the city port on Aug 9.

The fourth phase of the Covid wave

Dr. Faisal Sultan said the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) closely monitored the fourth phase of the Covid wave and the increase in various cases in Delta in the country.  He said an outbreak of coronavirus cases was observed in other provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the organization’s capital. “Islamabad has seen an outbreak of coronavirus cases in the past few days,” Faisal said and urged people to follow the SOPs and get themselves vaccinated against Covid-19.

Coming two Weeks is Important to Prevent the COVID-19

Dr. Faisal Sultan went on to say that the next two weeks are crucial in the country’s war against the novel coronavirus between the fourth and deadly Covid wave. Furthermore, Pakistan has registered 72 more COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll to 24,478.

The Numbers of Confirmed Cases:

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said the number of confirmed cases had risen to 1,102,079 after 3,669 new patients appeared. A total of 989,013 have recovered from the epidemic, adding that the prevalence rate of disease is 6.8 percent.

16,902,015 complete tests have been conducted so far to diagnose a deadly virus in Pakistan, including 53,644 in the last 24 hours.
