Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood announced that board exams for students of nine and ten would be held after 10th July only for elective subjects and mathematics, while exams for 11 and 12 would only be retained for elective subjects.

“This decision has been taken as students have different streams and directions so that they will sit in exams related only to their particular subject of interest,” he said.

Exams canceled except A2 students:

In April, the education ministry had canceled all examinations in the nation till 15th June. The only exception was allowed to A2 students, which they wanted to appear for the motive of applying to external universities.

The minister had tweeted When the decision had been taken to address the “health concerns of students and parents.”

Exam Result’s release date:

Shafqat Mahmood said that the Provincial education ministers must finalize exam results, and they should be released by the third week of September.

Promotion only after passing exams:

The federal minister restates the committee’s earlier decision not to promote any student without exams, “We still stand by that decision.”

Exam syllabus and subjects:

He said, “We then reduced the syllabus by 40 percent,” adding that the final syllabus and nature of assessments had been modified, keeping the challenges in mind. “The board exams of 9th grade and 10th-grade will be taken in elective subjects, and mathematics will also be a part of it. Therefore, exams will be held in four subjects,” while the exams of 11th and 12th grades will be held only in elective subjects.

Allocation of marks obtain in exams to other subjects too:

Later the minister explained in his tweet that the marks percentage taken by students in elective subjects would also be comparatively allocated to the topics of which exams are not being taken.”

Vaccination of teachers must before the exams:

The federal minister said that the exams would start after 10th July to give students at least three to four weeks to prepare. “We are taking this decision to make the most of the current situation when Covid-19 cases have dropped,” he said, adding that the assembly had also decided that all teachers would be vaccinated before the exams.

Universities reopening:

In his tweet, Shafqat Mahmood said that all universities are permitted to open from Monday.
